When speed and adrenaline combine, the result is a visual spectacle: Formula 1. The year 2025 is looking strong. The teams will not only compete on the track for the maximum number of podiums, but also off the track with the most impressive designs and technological innovations.
Some of the surprises that the next F1 season brings are new faces. In total, there will be six drivers who will make their debut as starters in this new season, although three of them have already made their debut in this competition.
Liam Lawson
Liam Lawson (New Zealand, 2002) is Red Bull's new signing. After being Red Bull's reserve driver for several years, in 2025 the New Zealander will become Max Verstappen's new teammate. This was confirmed by the team itself on December 19, which announced that Lawson would be the new full-time regular driver.
Lawson made his Formula 1 debut in 2023; he has contested 11 races between 2023 and 2024 as a replacement for Nyck de Vries, and later, as a replacement for Daniel Ricciardo at Red Bull.
Oliver Bearman
The young driver Oliver Bearman (England, 2005), after having made his Formula 1 debut this year, replacing three times the Spaniard Carlos Sainz at Ferrari and Kevin Magnussen at Haas, has finally made his place on the grid of the next championship by becoming the Haas team's regular driver for 2025.
At the age of 18, the Briton is already considered a future star of Formula 1, in fact he was the first driver to make his F1 debut in a Ferrari, something that had not happened for 52 years.
Jack Doohan
Jack Doohan (Australia, 2003) is the new regular driver of the Alpine team, replacing Esteban Ocon and becoming Pierre Gasly's new teammate for the 2025 season.
Doohan's F1 career dates back to 2022, when he joined the Apine Academy after having been a member of the Red Bull academy. During that year he participated in free practice sessions at various awards, and the following year, in 2023, he became Alpine's reserve driver.
Gabriel Bortoleto
Arriving from McLaren, Gabriel Bortoleto (Brazil, 2004) leaves the British team to join Kick Sauber, where he will debut as a driver in the F1 Championship in 2025.
The Brazilian is another big favorite for this year, as winning titles is something very common for this driver, who was proclaimed Formula 2 World Champion in 2024 and Formula 3 World Champion in the 2023 season.
Kimi Antonelli
Mercedes did not want to be left behind and for the 2025 World Championship has also announced a new driver change, signing the young Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Italy, 2006).
The Italian, after being part of the Mercedes Junior Team since 2019, becomes the new regular driver of the same for the next Championship, where he will race alongside his teammate George Russell.
Isack Hadjar
Another driver who will make his first Formula 1 debut is Isack Hadjar (France, 2004), who comes to the upcoming World Championship as a bet of the Racing Bulls team despite the fact that the young driver has not yet won a championship.
Hadjar jumped to Formula 2 last year, where he scored four wins, 8 podiums and finished second in the F2 2024 World Championship behind Gabriel Bortoleto.
