FACUA denounces Real Valladolid for charging abusive management fees for season ticket renewal
FACUA Castilla y León has filed a complaint against Real Valladolid CF before the Territorial Service of Industry, Commerce and Economy of Valladolid. The complaint focuses on the charging of 2.50 euros in ‘management fees’ during the online renewal of season tickets for the 2024-2025 season. The association received several complaints from users who, when renewing their season tickets online, were faced with this additional charge.
FACUA considers this charge to be abusive and unjustified, as it does not correspond to a real service. The renewal of season tickets is managed entirely by the members themselves, without the intervention of any third party or intermediary, as the whole process is carried out directly on the club's website. According to FACUA, Real Valladolid did not comply with the minimum requirements established by law regarding the right to information. The management fee was not properly detailed and itemised, and members were not previously informed about this cost before proceeding with the renewal.
Faced with this situation, FACUA demands the refund of the 2.50 euros charged to members, describing the charge as abusive and contrary to consumer protection regulations. The association stresses that this type of practice goes against the transparency and clear information that should be guaranteed to consumers before concluding any type of contract.
