American investment fund Órbita Corp is looking for football clubs in Spain, England and France
The American investment fund, Órbita Corp, is studying the purchase of a club that plays in one of the most important leagues in Europe, specifically LaLiga, Premier or Ligue.
The fund has already hired the services of a prestigious law firm, as well as professionals with extensive experience in buying and selling clubs at the highest level.
TIL has learned that the fund has its sights set on two Andalusian clubs that play in the Liga Hypermotion, the second tier in Spain; Granada CF and Málaga CF.
Both clubs have complex situations with their current owners.
On the one hand, the Nazarí club is owned by a Chinese group but the previous owner, Gino Pozzo - who owns Watford and Udinese - is claiming more than €10m outstanding from the sale contract that took place in 2016 to the company Desport.
The majority shareholder of Málaga CF is the Qatari sheikh, Abdullah ben Nasser Al-Thani, who has not appeared at the club for years, what's more, the club has been under court order since 20 February 2020, in the hands of the judicial administrator, José Ma Muñoz.
Sources from Órbita Corp assure us that these two clubs are some of the options they have in mind, without ruling out an English club currently playing in the Premier League and another in France's Ligue 2.
We will continue to keep you informed.
