Goal fest in Korea: Barça shines against FC Seoul with Lamine and Ferran in star form
Barça continues to fine-tune its engines on its Asian tour and did so in style in Seoul with a match full of goals, pace and spectacle. Hansi Flick's side beat FC Seoul 3-7 in a friendly that, although lacking competitive tension, left very positive impressions both individually and collectively. Lamine Yamal, with his first brace wearing the number 10 shirt, and a very lively Ferran Torres after the break, were the stars of a night that was hotter in the stands than on the pitch.
It didn't take long for the Azulgranas to open the scoring. Eight minutes in, Lewandowski took advantage of a rebound off the post after a good move by Lamine to make it 0-1. Just five minutes later, the young Catalan winger made his debut as a goalscorer with the number 10 shirt with a precise shot that silenced the South Korean stadium. At 0-2, it looked like Barça were going to run out comfortable winners, but FC Seoul, led by an active Jesse Lingard, dug deep. First, they reduced the deficit through Cho Young-Wook, after a mistake by Lamine, and just before half-time, their centre-back Al-Arab surprised everyone with an unexpected goal to make it 2-2.
The equaliser served as a wake-up call. Just after the start of the second half, Lamine scored again with a great individual effort, and Christensen immediately made it 2-4 with a powerful shot from outside the area. From then on, Barça were unstoppable. Hansi Flick made a number of substitutions, but the intensity did not drop. Ferran, who came on full of energy, put in an outstanding performance: he was involved in almost every attacking move, scored the 2-5 after a fine team move and rounded off the rout with the 3-7 thanks to a through ball from Rashford.
In between, Gavi also left his mark with a stunning goal after a half-turn and left-footed shot, while Han Ming Jung made the result look better for the home side with the South Koreans' third goal. Szczesny even had to intervene to prevent further surprises after a dangerous back pass from Rooney.
Barça are performing well on their Asian tour with two wins and good rhythm of play. The final test will be against Gaegu before returning home to contest the Joan Gamper Trophy against Como. For now, the Catalans are bringing back goals, confidence... and a Lamine who seems ready for whatever comes next.
