ECIJA reaches 127 partners with the promotion of two new lawyers in Latin America

---

Adalberto Méndez and María Dolores Echeverría have been appointed partners at ECIJA Mexico and Chile to strengthen the Corporate/M&A, Employment Law, Information Technology, Human Rights and Corporate Social Responsibility areas

One year after joining ECIJA Mexico as Business & Human Rights Counsel, Adalberto Méndez, has been invited to become a partner of the firm at a global level, expanding in the country the practice specialising in Business, Human Rights and Corporate Social Responsibility. With this, ECIJA Mexico consolidates its position as the first law firm with this practice in the country.

Adalberto Méndez has several years of experience in corporate transactional advice, compliance, as well as in strategic litigation and prevention of legal risks due to human rights violations by companies. He has extensive experience as a corporate lawyer and public official, and has served as a consultant to companies, governments and international organisations in 17 countries. Recently, he advised on the Corporate Responsibility and Due Diligence Law Initiative in Mexico, the first regulatory project in Latin America in the area of corporate responsibility for human rights violations.

For Ricardo Chacón, Managing Partner of ECIJA Mexico: "The incorporation of Adalberto as a partner positions the Firm as an innovative and cutting-edge firm, as it represents a milestone in the practice of business law as it complements it with specialised advice on human rights and corporate social responsibility with a unique preventive approach in the country, making us pioneers in this practice. Adalberto is, without a doubt, an authority and reference in the field, being the best profile for this relevant assignment".

For Adalberto, his promotion as partner means "not only one more professional achievement, but also a great challenge and responsibility, since it is a unique opportunity, not only to innovate and advise clients on time, but also to train a new generation of professionals who revalue the company as an agent of social change and generators of well-being".

On the other hand, María Dolores Echeverría is promoted as the first partner in ECIJA Chile. With this last move, the Firm in Chile bets and strengthens the areas of Corporate / M&A, Labour Law and Information Technology, areas that with her incorporation add four local partners

María Dolores has more than twenty-eight years of professional experience advising important national and international companies in labour, corporate, consumer protection and information technology matters. She joined the firm as a solicitor and has spent her entire career at ECIJA Chile. She has been recognised as an outstanding lawyer by international publications such as The Best Lawyers and Legal 500.

According to Gerardo Otero, Managing Partner of ECIJA Chile: "The promotion of María Dolores Echeverría is the result of the effort of a professional career in the Firm, we are proud and satisfied to welcome a new partner to our team whose leadership in the areas of Corporate / M&A, Labour Law and Information Technology has stood out for her permanent commitment and impeccable personal and professional work".

For María Dolores, her promotion to partner means "recognition of her work and commitment to clients, and she feels very fortunate to be part of a Firm that is committed to innovation, diversity and excellence as a fundamental part of the business culture".

In its focus on growth in the region, ECIJA continues to strengthen its presence in Latin America as the Ibero-American law firm with the largest presence in the continent, reaching a total of 127 partners and more than 660 professionals globally
