Senior Director and Head of Legal Assets at Stonward

Carolina Bayo is Senior Director – Head of Legal Assets at Stonward. She is in charge of and oversees Stonward’s daily operations relating to origination and assessment of commercial litigation and international commercial and investment arbitration cases, claims related to competition law infringements and insolvency related matters, matching them with specialized funding. She also oversees the progress of cases that are being funded.

Previously, Ms. Bayo was a policy advisor to Members of the European Parliament in Brussels where she worked on international trade, including the EU-US trade agreement, energy, and foreign policy, and was key to building compromises between different party lines.

Ms. Bayo is a graduate from Cornell University, having received a scholarship from the Government of Navarra, and from the faculty of law of the University of Navarra. While in law school she interned in a French law firm specialized in tax law, and was a student researcher in the Department of Public International Law. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and French.

Ms. Bayo is corresponding author and lead researcher of the Litigation Funding 2019 and 2020 Spain chapters (Eds. Friel, S. and Barnes, J.), and other articles on international arbitration and legal finance.
