Cleary Gottlieb has been named as one of the best firms to work for LGBTQ lawyers, according to a report by Human Rights Campaigning (HRC)

Specifically, HRC has made this report through the 2021 Corporate Equality Index, which is a survey conducted in the United States and collects information on large firms' corporate policies regarding working conditions for LGBTQ workers.

Firms that make the list of best companies to work for LGBTQ workers must demonstrate that they have implemented policies that seek fully inclusive work opportunities, provide benefits for LGBTQ inclusion in the workforce, and implement protocols to prevent acts that are harmful to LGBTQ people.

Cleary Gottlieb has demonstrated its efforts to highlight its inclusion and diversity strategies. The firm has 10% of associates in its US offices who are LGBTQ and has a strategic agreement with the LGBTQ Bar Association of Greater New York.
