We are looking for an experienced privacy lawyer to join our team, reporting into the Head of Privacy, Europe. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in a company that is enjoying hyper growth on a truly international scale.

  • Support our privacy compliance programme and the continuing development of a privacy governance strategy and compliance framework, policies and procedures for TikTok in EMEA;
  • Provide marketing, HR, product, sales and other business teams with legal advice on data protection laws and regulations;
  • Collaborate with the information security team, advising on organisational and technical measures required to safeguard data, incident response policies and processes, addressing suspected or actual data privacy and security incidents and advising on the appropriate containment, investigation and remediation of any breaches, notification and regulatory reporting requirements, and communications;
  • Assess and review new products and features from a privacy perspective;
  • Advise on and negotiate data protection clauses within commercial contracts;
  • Devise and provide data protection training and awareness programs across different business sectors;
  • Monitor and respond to industry and regulatory developments in data protection and information security law;
  • Draft internal and external privacy and data protection policies;
  • Advise on international data transfers and draft necessary agreements;
  • Input on EU data protection and privacy litigation;
  • Work with the Public Policy andCommunications teams in connection with data protection and privacy compliance.

Qualifications

  • Qualified lawyer and admitted to practice in at least one EU jurisdiction;
  • 5-8 years' privacy experience at top law firm or in-house team(some in-house experience preferred);
  • Deep understanding of privacy and data protection law, in particular privacy laws relating to minors and digital advertising;
  • Experience advising clients on privacy risk assessment and mitigation across digital products and new technology;
  • Experience working within a global legal team and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to get the job done;
  • Able to communicate effectively and credibly;
  • Able to assess legal, practical and business risks in a fast-paced environment and provide sound advice under tight deadlines.
  • Passion for and understanding of technology, social network, internet, and all things digital.
