Paula C. Arias
Colombian and American lawyer with over two decades of experience in rinternational commercial transactions and disputes. She is currently certified as a Fellow Arbitrator by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has acted as counsel, tribunal secretary, and expert witness in numerous international arbitration cases. Her experience includes advising on corporate structuring, negotiating international commercial transactions across industries such as technology, commodities, transportation, and banking, and litigating commercial, construction, and personal services disputes.
Former President of the Colombian American Bar Association and a member of the Colombian American Chamber of Commerce, where she previously served as Secretary of the Board. She is also the Director of the International Arbitration and International Litigation Advocacy Program at the University of Miami School of Law, where she teaches courses on Dispute Resolution in Latin America, International Sales, US Contract Law, Fundamentals of Human Rights, and Humanitarian Law Issues. She also lectures on international arbitration and dispute resolution at institutions such as Harvard Law School, Universidad Abierta Interamericana in Argentina, Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Spain, and Universidad del Norte in Colombia.
