Clifford Chance 1979-1999 (partner from 1987-1999), Freshfields partner from 1999-2009. Bob was a transactional lawyer throughout his 30 years with CC and Freshfields (achieving Tier 1 rankings in both Legal 500 and Chambers). Bob then became a managing partner/leader and was a partner of DLA Piper 1999 to 2014 (Head of Finance & Projects then Managing Director for Asia Pacific), a partner of Berwyn Leighton Paisner 2014 to 2018 (Head of Asia) and a partner of Addleshaw Goddard 2018 to date (Head of Asia). Bob has lived and worked in nine international cities in eight different countries over his career.

Notable Transactions: First ECA backed Japanese leveraged lease transaction (for Air India), acting for British Rail in relation to UK rail privatisation and development of the Master Operating Lease Agreement for the newly created ROSCOs, acting for the Brunei Ministry of Finance on several financial institution special situations, acting for Alstom on the London Transport Northern Line re-equipment procurement, acting for Alstom and Fiat on Virgin Rail's West Coast Mainline re-equipment, acting for Pakistan International Airlines on its Boeing 777 re-fleeting programme.
